Dancing to Connect
Drastic Action will return to Germany for a fourth year of our transatlantic
cultural exchange project, "Dancing to Connect." The company will work
in
three regions, the State of North Rhine Westphalia, Berlin/Potsdam and
Leipzig/Dresden. In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the
Berlin Wall, Drastic Action will lead students in each area in intensive,
week-long, creative dance workshops which explore what life was like in a
divided Germany and the events of reunification. In each area the workshops
will culminate with performances by the students of dances they create
during the workshops under the guidance of our professional teaching
artists. Drastic Action will also perform one premier and one recent work
choreographed by Aviva Geismar.
